Golden Wedding Anniversary
I'd like to say a good few words
To tell you how we met,
A Christmas dance in fifty eight
Is one I'll not forget.

The boys from A-Class Westwood
And the Kensington road girls,
Would weekly meet
To move their feet
And practise twists and twirls.

And that was where I first saw her
The gorgeous Mary Brown,
From that day on
My heart was won
I'd never let her down.

So at eighteen we got engaged
We married then at twenty,
A wonderful life
A beautiful wife
Adventures have been plenty.

When Jason came he filled our world
With happiness and joy,
Our lives were made complete
The day we met our little boy.

As Jason grew throughout the years
Those precious moments meant,
Our little boy became a man
Into the world he went.

The pride we felt could not be matched
As Jason went through life,
And we couldn't have been more happy
Than when Jason met his wife.

Lucy we would like to say
A big thank you to you,
For making our son happy
And another reason too.

With Lily you have brought to us
Such overwhelming joy,
And such a perfect family
For our grown up little boy.

And so tonight to here and now
We're all here side by side,
With family and with all our friends
Who've come from far and wide.

From Yorkshire, Eastbourne, Surrey,
From Wales and Matlock through
To Sunderland and Poynton
And the Stourbridge lot too.

We thank you all for coming here
To share our special day,
But we really don't feel seventy
It's just a number, eh?!
